The experiment in view
The study used rats with an experimentally ligated inferior caval vein. Its principal measures were thrombosis, collateral flow, pressure, bleeding and molecular measures. The investigators reported attenuation of the ligation syndrome and altered venous bypass pathways.
Reading the result closely
A ligature stays in place, unlike a naturally forming clot with its own changing biology. That feature makes collateral-flow observations interesting but also limits translation. Bleeding and clotting measures need to be retained individually instead of being summarized as a universal normalizing effect.
The boundary of the finding
The experiment does not establish thrombosis prevention or treatment in human patients.
Related evidence, kept separate
BPC-157 after a surgical aortic anastomosis examines thrombus formation, limb function and muscle strength. Here, the measured endpoint was thrombosis, collateral flow, pressure, bleeding and molecular measures. Those outcomes belong to separate experiments; one is not a replication or a human confirmation of the other.
