The experiment in view

The study used rats receiving an overdose-like potassium challenge and cultured HEK293 cells. Its principal measures were eCG, electrolyte-related signs, survival and membrane potential. The authors reported attenuation of the induced hyperkalemic syndrome and cell depolarization effects.

Reading the result closely

The experiment deliberately creates an extreme, rapidly dangerous state. Its interventions cannot be translated into home management of electrolyte abnormalities. A cell-conductance finding may inform a mechanism, but safe emergency treatment requires clinical evidence and established care pathways.

The boundary of the finding

This is not evidence for a human hyperkalemia treatment or a supplement strategy.

Related evidence, kept separate

BPC-157 in a sotalol-related rat syndrome examines eCG, circulation, thrombosis and multiorgan injury. Here, the measured endpoint was eCG, electrolyte-related signs, survival and membrane potential. Those outcomes belong to separate experiments; one is not a replication or a human confirmation of the other.
