The experiment in view

The study used rats given sodium laurate into the inferior caval vein. Its principal measures were early pulmonary, vascular, pressure, thrombosis and organ findings. The authors reported attenuation of post-embolization disturbances and activation of collateral circulation.

Reading the result closely

The embolizing agent and observation period define the experiment. A claim about ordinary leg swelling or prevention during travel would require a different population and design. The collateral-circulation interpretation should remain distinct from direct evidence that an established clot was safely treated in a patient.

The boundary of the finding

Chemical embolization in anesthetized animals is not a human clot-treatment trial.

Related evidence, kept separate

BPC-157 during severe abdominal pressure in rats examines pressure, circulation, thrombosis and organ injury. Here, the measured endpoint was early pulmonary, vascular, pressure, thrombosis and organ findings. Those outcomes belong to separate experiments; one is not a replication or a human confirmation of the other.
