The experiment in view

The study used rats after a lung vascular injury caused by monocrotaline. Its principal measures were pulmonary pressure-related, heart and lung findings. The authors reported preventive and later-treatment effects on the experimental pulmonary-hypertension syndrome.

Reading the result closely

The intervention timing distinguishes prevention from treatment after disease features appear. Combining those groups into one claim would conceal different questions. A human program would also have to address exercise capacity, symptoms, right-heart outcomes and interaction with established therapy.

The boundary of the finding

One toxin model does not establish treatment of the many forms of human pulmonary hypertension.

Related evidence, kept separate

BPC-157 in a severe potassium-chloride rat challenge examines eCG, electrolyte-related signs, survival and membrane potential. Here, the measured endpoint was pulmonary pressure-related, heart and lung findings. Those outcomes belong to separate experiments; one is not a replication or a human confirmation of the other.
